Eggnog seems to be a drink you either really love or hate.

I happen to lean towards the I love eggnog category so I decided to use it this holiday season in my coffee drinks.

I kicked off my eggnog and coffee drink pairing with a Starbucks inspired eggnog latte. Turns out, I had lots of eggnog leftover to work with.

The eggnog latte is not a coffee drink I can have every single morning, so I decided to try different ways to put eggnog and coffee together. So here it is, the Eggnog Frappuccino.

Does Starbucks have eggnog frappuccino?

Yes, and this eggnog frappuccino recipe is inspired by the one from Starbucks.

The Starbucks eggnog frappuccino has the following ingredients, as listed on their website: Ice, Milk, Coffee Frappuccino Syrup, Eggnog, Whipped Cream, Vanilla Syrup and Nutmeg.

They’ve blended eggnog with coffee and ice and finished it with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of nutmeg.

We’ll do something similar here by using ice cubes, espresso, eggnog, whipped cream and a choice of nutmeg or festive Christmas sprinkles on top.

Starbucks also has a caffeine free version of this frappuccino, the Eggnog Crème Frappuccino Blended Beverage. You can do the same too by following this recipe, but omitting the espresso.

Whichever option you choose, it’s a delicious holiday treat.

Tips for Making an Eggnog Frappuccino

Ice Cubes

I used regular ice cubes.

If you prefer having a strong coffee flavor in your frappuccinos, I recommend using coffee ice cubes. This is an easy way to avoid watered down coffee or in this case, for even more coffee.

To make coffee ice cubes, use regular ice cube trays and fill it with coffee instead of water. Use leftover coffee from a pot you’ve made that morning. And if you’re feeling up to it, add flavor to your coffee ice cubes by adding in a little coffee syrup with the flavor of your choice.

Espresso

I used a stove top moka pot to brew espresso. Be sure to set this aside to cool before adding to the blender.

The moka pot is my preferred method to make coffee for my coffee drink recipes. It makes a really concentrated coffee almost like espresso made from an espresso machine.

In fact, this is one of the methods I recommend using when a recipe calls for espresso and you don’t have an espresso machine at home. Check out our guide for making espresso without an espresso machine.

As mentioned, if you order the eggnog frappuccino at Starbucks, you can get it with or without coffee. So feel free to omit espresso if you’re looking for a caffeine free option.

Eggnog

I used golden eggnog from Hood.

This classic eggnog has a slight yellow hue. This secret recipe from eggnog is extra creamy and tastes delicious in the frappuccino.

We don’t need to add any extra sugar to this drink because the eggnog provides enough sweetness. You can also switch it up if you end up making eggnog frappuccinos all holiday season long. Hood has vanilla flavored eggnog that you can also use.

And if you’re looking for a dairy free version, nowadays you may be able to find dairy free egg nog (or more like just ‘nog’) at your local grocery store.

Toppings

I used storebought whipped cream and Christmas sprinkles.

The Starbucks eggnog frappuccino has the layer of whipped cream that frappuccinos are known for. And top of the whipped cream is a sprinkle of nutmeg.

You can also add a sprinkle of nutmeg on your homemade eggnog frappuccino. I chose to use Christmas sprinkles instead for a festive touch.

If you choose to make your own whipped cream at home, it’s simple. Just use heavy cream and use a mixer on medium high speed until stiff peaks form. Add in a touch of vanilla syrup to make it sweet like Starbucks whipped cream.

If adding coffee, pick a brewing method.

I used my stovetop moka pot. Set aside to cool completely before pouring into the blender. You don’t want the ice to melt immediately.
