Does the Roomba 692 have mapping? ›

The Roomba 692 is not a Smart Imprint Map model. The Roomba 692 uses clean map reports to show you where the robot has performed the cleaning mission.

Press the dock button on your Roomba.

Look for the “Home” button along the top of your device—this is a small, circular button to the left of the larger “Clean” button. Press this button once to send your Roomba back to its Home Base.

Its dirt compartment is also larger, and its battery can last longer when used on the lowest power setting. However, the iRobot does a better job of picking up large debris like sand on high-pile carpet, and it has dirt sensors that detect which areas need a more thorough cleaning.

Roomba® uses a full suite of sensors and an advanced navigation system to seek out the dirtier areas of your floors and spends more time cleaning them.

Bring the robot to the new area and place it down. In the App, select the Map icon and click the “+” icon in the top right corner of the screen. Then Start a Mapping Run. Once your robot realizes it is in a new and unmapped area, it will create a second map at the end of the cleaning job.

A: The Roomba 692 is compatible with the iRobot Home App. However, the Roomba can be used without Wifi as well.

In some instances, with these models, you may need to pick up your robot and move it to a new room so it can start cleaning. If you want your robot to return to the Home Base®, you would need to move the Home Base® to that room, and start the robot off of it.

Note: If the full bin indicator is illuminated or blinking, it means the bin is full. Roomba cannot continue cleaning until the bin is emptied. Please empty the bin, clean the filter, and clean the full bin sensors.

Charging time under normal conditions is at least 2 hours.

Wi-Fi Coverage Mapping is a feature that can detect wireless signal strength throughout your home to highlight areas that may have poor connectivity.

The Roomba 692 is an entry-level robot vacuum that doesn't have mapping features. It cleans in a random pattern, but all the same, it does a great job. It may miss a few spots, especially in large apartments and homes with high traffic.

Also, rather than the 980's advanced mapping capabilities, the 690 uses sensor technology to navigate through your house.

Everything is controlled using the iRobot app, so you can tell Roomba when to begin, how long to clean for, and when to return “home” to its charging station. Unlike some other Roomba models, the 694 model doesn't have the ability to map your home and learn specific spaces.
